Tony Ding Photography

Yes, thats me in the middle of the pack of Michigan football players running out of the Michigan Stadium tunnel before a home game, I'm thinking, from 2005? It pretty well sums up what I love doing most in life, the thrill of being in the midst of all the action, being daring and capturing what I experience through the lens of a camera.

As a professional photojournalist, I have been capturing current events, athletes, personalities and my community through pictures published in local, national and international media. For the past 6 years, I have called Michigan my home, and my work can be seen regularly in pictures for the Associated Press, The Detroit Free Press, and The Detroit News. I am also represented by Icon Sports Images and NewsCom, making my work available to a wide range of editorial and creative publications worldwide.

My roots are in the Pacific Northwest, where I grew up and still see my family whenever I can, and China, where I was born and where I hope to continue being able to visit, work and learn.

Sports photography has been my catalyst in starting my career in journalism, but I gain a respect and passion to explore all the amazing moments of humanity, of our environment, so the power of visual communication in general is what keeps me shooting. At the moment, my self-motivating interests are in international affairs, neo-politics, and the development of the Asia-Pacific rim.

I love to travel and would be receptive to visiting any part of the world, with my fully digital equipment and the experience and capabilty to deliver pictures that meet deadlines and expectations.
